Darkly funny novels about complicated women making questionable decisions.
Michele Makes Fiction writes darkly funny stories about complicated women making questionable decisions for understandable reasons.
My work explores family chaos, guilt, identity, loneliness, nostalgia and the strange performance of trying to appear normal while everything quietly falls apart underneath.
Blending sharp humour with emotional honesty, these stories focus on the messy, uncomfortable and often absurd moments that make people human.
At the centre of it all are women trying to cope, reinvent themselves, survive impossible situations, or simply get through the day without making things dramatically worse.
Sometimes they succeed.
Usually they don’t.

For Ria and many others, slimming down is optional.
Staying alive isn't.
